Overview

Noble Events was tasked with orchestrating a high-calibre customer test drive experience for McLaren Middle East’s launch of the new 750S supercar, tailored to high-net-worth individuals across the GCC.

As a result of Noble Events’ extensive experience of launching premium brand automotives, and understanding the essence of a supercar experience, the event was reimagined from a typical track day to a road test drive, with the Noble Events team choosing Jebel Jais as the route. This decision not only provided breathtaking views but also allowed guests to experience the McLaren 750S in a real-world setting, enhancing their connection to the vehicle beyond the constraints of a track. The road to Jebel Jais, the highest point in the UAE, offered the perfect blend of challenging drives and stunning scenery, crucial for showcasing the car’s capabilities.

The aim of the 3-day event was to introduce the McLaren 750S to potential buyers and encourage on-site vehicle purchases and deposits.

Objectives

Noble Events encountered a variety of challenges that needed to be overcome in order to deliver the expected results. These included:

  • Budget Constraints: Noble Events were tasked with delivering a luxury experience on a constrained budget. This posed a significant risk as high expectations needed to be met without the typical financial leeway.
  • Last-minute Changes: The team experienced late purchase orders and confirmations, both of which added complexity to the planning process.
  • Overbooked Venue: The chosen hotel overbooked after the contract was signed, posing a huge challenge. With the venue being a central feature of the event, insufficient room availability and poor initial service levels risked severely affecting the comfort and satisfaction of the guests, ultimately undermining the event’s objectives of luxury and exclusivity.

Noble Events proactively addressed these challenges through strategic planning, negotiation, and leveraging their extensive experience in high-value event management in the following ways:

  • Financial Management: Despite the limited budget and late purchase orders, we utilised deposits from McLaren retailers to secure all necessary arrangements without compromising the luxury and exclusivity of the event.
  • Venue Coordination: After discovering the hotel had overbooked, the Noble Events team relocated the majority of the organising team to nearby accommodations. This ensured all guests could enjoy their stay as planned. We negotiated repeatedly to secure the required spaces and service levels from the hotel, aligning their offerings with the high standards expected at such a prestigious event.
    The hotel secured was located in a 1,235-acre private nature reserve, the resort offered private villas with individual pools and decks overlooking the desert. This choice was pivotal, as the quality of accommodation needed to match the high expectations of our high-net-worth attendees. Each villa provided a sanctuary with options for relaxation and adventure, such as horse riding, falconry, and a Rainforest Spa experience, ensuring that guests could unwind in style after their thrilling drive.
  • Personalised Guest Management: From the onset, delegate management was handled with precision, by taking care of guests in waves. By running the event this way, Noble Events were able to ensure the event remained bespoke and intimate for each valued guest and their McLaren retail host, guaranteeing a premium experience with McLaren and their 570S.
    Each guest received personalised invitations and was kept informed through every phase via a dedicated communication channel. Transfers were carefully arranged from airports to the venue, ensuring a smooth transition throughout their stay. This high level of personal attention ensured that each guest felt valued and taken care of - a crucial component when dealing with an elite clientele.

These tailored solutions not only addressed the initial challenges but also elevated the overall event experience, ensuring that each aspect was in sync with the expectations of McLaren’s discerning clientele.
