Bentley Motors

This award-winning five day once-in-a-lifetime road trip took guests from the home of Bentley Motors to the home of The Macallan.

The intimate convoy, run in four identical waves, saw Bentley Motors customers and prospects take a breathtakingly scenic route from the home of Bentley Motors in Crewe to The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland, with the itinerary showcasing the scenic best of the UK, particularly the Peak District, North Pennines, Northumberland National Park and the Cairngorms.

With intricate planning, the first focus was the route, selecting stops along the way that allowed guests to experience hotels and venues that emulated the luxury and sustainability messaging of Bentley Motors and experience the vehicle holistically in diverse road conditions. After checking into the neighbouring Rookery Hall, guests met at Bentley Motors in Crewe over a light lunch and exclusive tour culminating with a unique ‘Dine on the Line’ dinner experience in the heart of the factory.

Starting the road trip the following day, the convoy headed north towards Fischer’s Baslow Hall, a 100-year-old Grade II listed manor house located in beautiful Derbyshire, for a pitstop coffee and optional garden tour before hitting the road again, with the next stop being a quintessential afternoon tea experience at Grantley Hall in the Yorkshire Dales.

Day two ended with a tasting menu dinner at Middleton Lodge before guests turned in for the evening.

With optional health and wellness activities to bolster the driving agenda, day three encompassed a pit stop Coffee Break at Lord Crewe Arms, lunch at Windlestraw and the final stop for the day, an immersive dining experience on the banks of the River Spey with a BBQ feast from celebrity chef Tony Singh at a hidden gem, Treehouses at Lanrick, a hotel venue offering true escapism in a secluded woodland setting, where guests were encouraged to unwind and recharge before the next day ahead.

On the fourth and final day of the journey, the convoy first headed to Fife Arms for a light brunch and optional unique guided tour of the house’s 1,000+ piece art collection before reaching their final destination, the Macallan Distillery for an immersive experience of the distillery, culminating with an exclusive dinner surrounded by the iconic oak barrels. The last evening was spent at Rothes Glen, an old yet characterful Scottish castle now owned by an editor of a whiskey magazine. The overall experience left the group in awe of the UK’s stunning scenery and diversity and the feeling that the trip was a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that couldn’t be compared to anything else.
