How Evie, John and Lottie Found Their Paths at Noble Events
Young talent is the lifeblood of the events industry. Our young people play a crucial role in keeping things fresh and forward-thinking. At Noble Events, we’ve seen the incredible value of bringing young professionals onto our team first-hand – not just for their new ideas, but for their adaptability and eagerness to learn. They bring a unique energy that helps us stay ahead in an ever-evolving field.
But investing in young talent isn’t just good for business, it boosts growth, encourages innovation, and develops the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of our industry. Their perspectives push us to think differently, improve processes, and deliver even more impactful experiences for our clients.
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on three of our talented young team members – Evie, John, and Lottie – each of whom has taken their own path into the world of events. Their stories show that there’s no one right way to build a career in this industry, and each journey brings something unique to the table.
Evie: Balancing College with Practical Experience
At just 17, Evie is already making a name for herself in the events industry. While studying Travel and Tourism at college three days a week, she joined Noble Events as an intern – driven by her passion for creating memorable experiences. Knowing early on that she wanted a career in events, Evie explored different paths, from college courses to apprenticeships. Ultimately, she chose an internship for its hands-on experience, allowing her to gain real-world insights while continuing her studies.
Why an Internship?
For Evie, the internship was the perfect fit. It gave her the chance to apply what she was learning in college to actual projects, blending theory with practice. This approach not only helped her develop new skills but also deepened her understanding of the industry. The flexibility and supportive environment at Noble Events gave her the space to grow both personally and professionally – a balance that’s been key to her development.
John: From Journalism to Event Marketing
John’s career path started with ambitions of becoming a journalist. Passionate about sports and politics, he created a blog and podcast to showcase his writing skills. However, after completing his university degree, John discovered a new passion for marketing which led him into the events industry. Through his work at Noble Events, he realised the scale and excitement of the industry, particularly the opportunity to work with prestigious brands. To further develop his skills, John is now pursuing an apprenticeship in digital marketing, adding practical experience to his academic foundation.
Why an Apprenticeship?
For John, the apprenticeship was the perfect way to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the fast-paced reality of the events industry. While his degree gave him a solid foundation, the hands-on experience of the apprenticeship has allowed him to dive into digital marketing, build connections, and stay on top of industry trends. The combination of learning and real-world application has accelerated his career development, helping him contribute more effectively to the dynamic world of event marketing.
Lottie: A Straightforward Path from University to Events Management
Lottie’s passion for event planning began early. After leaving school, she chose to study A-levels in Sport and Business, setting a solid foundation for her future. She then pursued a degree in Events Management at Leeds Beckett University, which included a sandwich year in the industry. This hands-on experience was crucial for her, providing practical insights and professional connections.
Why University?
University was a strategic choice for Lottie. The degree offered extensive opportunities for practical experience and networking, essential for a successful career in events management. Her background has equipped her with the skills to handle the diverse challenges of the industry, from creativity to organisation.
A Tailored Approach to Managing and Developing Young Talent
At Noble Events, we recognise that managing young professionals requires a unique approach – one that emphasises training, development, and mentoring. We’ve created a supportive environment where young talent can truly thrive. Our structured training programmes focus on building technical expertise and developing essential soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Mentorship plays a key role too, with our more experienced team members guiding the younger generation through the complexities of the events industry. This hands-on support helps them navigate challenges and build confidence in their roles. By encouraging a culture of continuous learning and providing personalised development plans, we ensure our young team members are ready to take on new challenges and grow into future leaders in the industry.
“Supporting our young team members through mentorship is incredibly rewarding. It’s about more than guiding them through day-to-day challenges – it’s about investing in their growth and building their confidence to navigate a dynamic industry. Seeing them develop and contribute in meaningful ways strengthens our team and prepares them to take on greater responsibility. By fostering a culture of hands-on learning, we not only enhance their potential but also enrich the entire business.” Hannah Taylor-Jones, Head of Events
Embracing Diverse Paths to Success
Evie, John, and Lottie show us that there’s no one-size-fits-all path into the events industry. Whether balancing college with internships, combining university education with apprenticeships, or transitioning straight from university, each route offers its own opportunities for growth and learning.
At Noble Events, we’re proud to support these different journeys and recognise the value each young team member brings to our work. Their stories reflect the evolving nature of our industry – where flexibility, practical experience, and a willingness to keep learning are key to success.
As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to supporting and nurturing our young talent, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. But these stories aren’t just about individual achievements; they’re about how our industry can continue to attract, develop, and inspire the next generation of event professionals. By embracing different pathways and investing in young talent, we ensure the events industry remains innovative and full of fresh ideas that will continue to ensure every event we deliver for our clients is exceptional.
